Marthe Sevier Thompson

Mrs. Marthe Louise (Sevier) Thompson, was born on June 24, 1927 in Dallas, Texas, to the late Elisabeth Angeline Sevier and the late Maurice Sevier, passed away peacefully at age 90 on April 17, 2018 at her home in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Marthe grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She attended nursing school, met and married Richard Walker Thompson, and moved to California, where she was a registered nurse for over 30 years and then a real estate agent for about 30 years. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Armin Sevier and John Sevier; grandmothers, Tennessee Roberts and Engelina Susanne Juenemann; and grandfathers, Moses Nimrod Sevier and George Richard Habermann. Marthe is survived by her sons, Alan Walker Thompson and Douglas Sevier Thompson; daughter, Diane Elisabeth Herrick; brother, Moses Sevier; and sister, Chloe Susanne Sevier. Marthe had a great sense of humor, loved animals, nature, gardening, cooking, reading, and sewing. Friends and family members are welcome to attend the service. The funeral home will be Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, 310-521-4333. The family suggests memorial gifts be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association. Marthe will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
