Marjorie Jean Hall

October 21, 1942 — April 20, 2023

Marjorie Hall was born on October 21, 1942 in Freeport, Illinois. She was the second child of four children born to Sergeant First Class Dean and Thelma Robinson. The family traveled extensively to various military posts arriving at Fort Riley, Kanas in 1957.

In 1960, Marjorie graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas. After high school, she attended Wichita Business College in Wichita, Kansas. While in Kansas, Marjorie met the love of her life Sergeant Bobby Hall. Their love grew and they married in 1961. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Delbert and Cheryl Hall. For the next 26 years Marjorie and her family traveled to multiple Army posts, ultimately settling in Carson, CA in 1986.

Marjorie was employed at El Camino College where she worked as an Evaluation Specialist. While there, she earned an Associate degree in Real Estate and Ethnic Studies with an emphasis on African American studies. She also attended California State University Dominguez Hills where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

After a 30-year career, Marjorie retired in 2014. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and crocheting.

In the early morning of April 20, 2023, God called Marjorie to receive her wings. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Thelma Robinson, her husband, Bobby Hall, and sister Betty Gaylord. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Delbert, daughter Cheryl, granddaughters Aliegha, Ashley, and Tiffany; grandsons, Delbert Jr. and Robert Hall; great-grandson Aiden Hall; great-granddaughters Logan Carlisle and Aniya Hall; her brother Dean Robinson Jr. and wife Shauneil; her faithful companion Coco; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
