Marjorie Lynn Falcon

June 14, 1950 — February 1, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie L. Falcon. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Marjorie was born in Los Angeles and was raised in Upland by her parents, Robert and Doris Tucker (nee Kelander). Marjorie deeply valued education and had a continual curiosity to learn about the world. She graduated from Upland High School in three years and was awarded the prestigious National Merit Scholarship. Sadly, during Marjorie’s last year of high school, her mother was struck with cancer, so Marjorie attended Chaffey College in order to be close to her. While at Chaffey College, Marjorie worked at the library, an ideal position for someone who so loved knowledge and helping people. Marjorie then became an administrative assistant in the Music Department at Cal Poly Pomona, where she was a ray of sunshine for the faculty and many students. Marjorie adored music (especially singing).

While at Cal Poly, Marjorie met the love of her life and her best friend, Alan. They married in 1976. Alan always called Marjorie his “precious gem” because of her sparkling personality, radiance, happiness, and beauty.

In 1979, Marjorie began her career at Toyota and rose through the ranks to National Manager of the Marketing Budget. In 1988, Marjorie earned an MBA from Loyola Marymount University, and soon thereafter, she welcomed her first son Bryce into the world. A few years later, in 1991, Devin was born, and together with her husband, Alan, Marjorie's two sons became the center of her life.

Marjorie retired from her job at Toyota in 2007. After her retirement, she and Alan embarked on many trips to destinations around the world. As a dedicated member of the L.A. South Towns Show Chorus, Marjorie was highly involved in their semi-annual performances and, with her expertise in accounting, she excelled as the Chorus's treasurer.

She was passionate about her genealogy hobby and spent many hours tracing her family back to the 1600s. She was an avid reader. Her love of cats resulted in many merry cat Christmas tree ornaments. She also possessed a green thumb and had a way with her lavender and red rose bushes brightening up our yard.

Marjorie is predeceased by her dearly beloved sister, Janine, and she is survived by her husband, two sons, and two nephews (Aaron and Alex) and niece (Erica). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and the L.A. South Towns Chorus (see website).

Bryce and Devin miss Marjorie dearly, and although it is said that “Nothing Lasts Forever,” Alan’s love for Marjorie will last for eternity.
