Marion Gaines

Marion, the daughter of Walter Jr. and Julia Backstrom was born February 19, 1939 in Los Angeles, California. She passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, June 3, 2013 with family by her side in Harbor City, California. Marion is survived by Eugene, the love of her life and husband of 53 years; three devoted children, Ellen and husband, Tony Varela, Eugene Jr. and wife, Robin Gaines and Elaine and husband, Robert Kitchen; five siblings, James and wife, Madean Backstrom, Warner and wife, Loretta Backstrom, Don and wife, Jacquelyn Backstrom, Vernell Backstrom and Ruby Howard; five grandchildren, Desiree, Sara, Courtney, Keegan and Kendell. Also survived by Isaac Gaines, Winslow and Alberta Gaines, Beatrice McGowan, Frank and Beverly Gaines, Harold and Inetia Gaines, Tommy and Sandy Gaines and many nieces, nephews other relatives and close friends. The Memorial Service will be at 10:30 on Tuesday, June 11th at Harbor Christian Church in Harbor City. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes.
