It is with great sorrow that we announce Mario Morales Moreno, age 51, passed away in Long Beach, CA on April 4th, 2024, where he was a resident of 22 years. Morales was born in Tijuana, MX on August 15, 1972. He was a devoted husband, father, friend, and neighbor. His family was his greatest pride and joy. Unfortunately, he passed away waiting for the arrival of his grandchild. Sergeant First Class Morales was an American Hero who served his country for 24 years in the Army. The recently retired veteran completed three tours of war. His dedication and bravery was exemplified by his commitment to his country and his fellow soldiers. Beyond his military service, Morales was a mentor to many. He always motivated and encouraged people to pursue their education. He completed his master’s degree in business administration at California Southern University in 2017. This was a testament to his lifelong pursuit of knowledge and
personal growth.
Morales worked as a Code Enforcement Officer for 17 years. He worked with diligence in his field and was proud of the work that he produced. He thrived in every environment he was placed in and made lifelong friends in every city that he was employed by. Morales was an excellent example of a model employee who represented his city amicably. Morales had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether camping in his RV, hiking through trails with his dogs, or simply basking in the beauty of nature, he found solace and rejuvenation in the great outdoors.
Morales was also a skilled craftsman and handyman, who poured his heart into every project he undertook. He truly made his house a home. Every inch of his home had a personalized touch. Any time he was not at work, with his family, or serving his country, he was working on home improvement projects. His passion for craftsmanship was only matched by his love for laughter. Morales had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him with his quick wit and infectious humor.
Mario's legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and admiration.
To honor Mario's life and legacy, a visitation will be held at Green Hills Mortuary on Sunday April 21st, 2024, at 2pm, a Memorial Mass will be held on Monday April 22 nd at 10am at St Athanasius Catholic
