Marie Mcginnis

Marie L. McGinnis, age 74, died surrounded by her family on January 18, 2018. Marie was born on March 24, 1943 in Long Beach, California. She and her family resided in the California Heights section of Long Beach. Marie retired from a career as a teacher in the Long Beach Unified School District after 44 years.

She was a proud supporter of the Int’l Collectors’ Guild, Literary Women, Found Theatre, Friends of the Long Beach Public Library, LBCC Faculty Wives and Foundation, CSULB Fine Arts Affiliates, Long Beach Police Officers Association (LBPOA), the American Heart Association, and Ability First.

She is survived by her husband Michael, her daughter, Michelle, her brother, Stephen, her sister, Joyce, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Marie was a loving wife, mother, and matriarch of her extended family. She was a great friend to many, and a marvelous teacher.
