Marie Lane

On 1/15/1914 God blessed the earth with the birth of Marie Lane; 100 years later on 6/12/2014 he decided to bring her home to heaven. Marie was born in Boston, MA and moved as a little girl to Long Beach, CA and then spent the rest of her life in San Pedro. She was married to Edward Lane for 60 years. Marie was on the "Gong Show" as the Unknown Granny, wrote and copyrighted 3 songs, was a member of SAG, and tied for the "Granny of the Year" contest. She loved to help people and tell jokes, sing, write music and rescue animals. Marie is survived by daughters, Marjorie "Margie" Nilsson, Carolyn Cunningham and predeceased by daughter Pat Guertin. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 3 great-great-great grandchildren, niece Joyce Webb and nephew Walter Webb. A rosary will be held on 6/23/14 at 7 PM and the funeral service on 6/24/14 at 10 AM, both at Holy Trinity Church in San Pedro, with burial procession to Green Hills Memorial Park.
