Marian Jamieson

November 14, 1928 — July 3, 2020

On July 3, 2020, we said goodbye to our beautiful mother, grandmother, and aunt, Marian Jamieson. She left our world after a long battle with kidney disease, but has now joined her beloved husband, Arthur Jamieson, in heaven. Marian was loved and cherished by everyone who knew her, known for her caring heart and generous spirit. She will be greatly missed by her five children, her five grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews and their children.

Marian has many passions and hobbies that she shared with her family during her life, including cooking for her loved ones, reading good books, caring for her family's many dogs, gardening, and traveling. She and her husband Arthur traveled to many places together. When their children were young, they would take long road trips to Yellowstone as a family. They took many trips with their grandchildren and later in their lives, they enjoyed taking regular trips to Laughlin, eating at their favorite restaurants, going to the movies, playing the slot machines, and relaxing together.

Marian had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. Her smile was infectious. She loved to laugh and reminisce, sharing stories of her childhood in Connecticut and her youth in Brooklyn, where she lived with Arthur and his family when they were newlyweds. One of her favorite memories was when Arthur surprised her by bringing home a bunch of diamond rings in a napkin and told her to pick her favorite one. After they married, they took a joint honeymoon to Florida with their best friends, who got married the same day. When they lived in Brooklyn, they would take Arthur's sister Ruthy to the ice skating rink at Prospect Park, go to the movie theater across the street where Arthur's brother Bobby worked, and occasionally sleep on the roof when it was too hot out. Eventually, they decided to move to California, where they bought a home and raised their five children.

Even though she's no longer with us in this world, Marian will live on in her family's hearts and in cherished memories. We miss her and love her so much.
