Marian M. Ford

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Marian Ford passed away on Dec 16th, 2011, at the age of 97. Marian was born on Aug. 25th, 1914, the only child of Lee and Nora Stonebraker, in Yakima, WA. She spent her childhood there, and in Sunnyside, WA. The family later moved to Mt. Morris, IL., where she spent her high school and young adult years. She was a secretary at Kable News Co. in Mt. Morris, and again in Los Angeles, after moving to California in the early 40's. She has resided in Torrance since 1952, and was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Waldo "Wally" Ford, in 2006. She was an active member for many years in both the El Camino College Faculty Wives Club, and the Walteria United Methodist Church, where she made many treasured friends. She and Wally loved their motor home camping trips, and especially loved visiting their property in Julian, Ca. Marian will be remembered by her family and many friends for her devotion to them, her warm and loving nature and great smile, and her awesome cooking abilities!! Her kind and gentle soul loved unconditionally, and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her, including her 3 pet cats. Marian is survived by her only child, daughter Sandra (Douglas) Cunningham, two grandchildren, Keith (Linda) Cunningham, and Karen McNeice-Morrison, and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan, Brittany, Tori, and Trevor. There will be a visitation at the Green Hills Mortuary from 3 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, December 22nd, and a graveside service on Friday, December 23rd at 12:00 noon, Green Hills Memorial Park.
