Maria Theresa Zuniga

Maria Teresa Zuniga born on May 1st, 1920 in Nayarit, Mexico to Emilio and Teodosia Vazques and passed away peacefully on January 17, 2013 surrounded by her family at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James (Cutuy) Zuniga; daughters, Teresita Zuniga, Yolanda Ruiz; son, Hector Zuniga and grandson, Russell Ruben Zuniga. Maria is survived by her son, Victor M. Zuniga Sr. (Martha) and daughter, Maria Elena Peralta; 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 25 great great-grandchildren. She worked for Pan Pacific Cannery for over 30 years. She lived in Ensenada, Mexico before coming to San Pedro in 1959. She will be missed by all her loving family and friends. Maria was known to all of us as Nana Tete. Viewing will be at Green Hills on Thursday, January 24th from 12:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Rosary at 7:00. A Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church in San Pedro. Interment immediately following mass. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Toberman Settlement House (senior citizens group) or St. Peter Church.
