Maria Luisa Meda, a beloved matriarch, passed away at the age of 95. Born in Paso Ancho, Jalisco, Mexico, on July 14, 1929, Maria Luisa immigrated to the United States in 1972 with a dream of building a better life for her family.
Maria Luisa was a pillar of strength, resilience, and love. She was the devoted mother of 12 children, 10 of whom survive her. Her life’s joy was found in her family, which grew to include 28 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren with more on the way, and three great-great-grandchildren. She selflessly helped raise her grandchildren, nurturing each one with unconditional love.
Known for her honesty—delivered with a candidness that only came from love—she never wavered in her truthfulness. She was wise beyond measure and beautiful inside and out. She was also a coffee lover, a habit that sparked our love of coffee at a very young age.
February 14, 2025, the day of her funeral, marks what would have been the 82nd anniversary of her marriage in 1943—a testament to a life of enduring love and devotion.
She will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who were lucky enough to know her. Her memory lives on through the love she passed down to the generations that follow.
