Maria Antonia Gonzalez

July 26, 1955 — June 27, 2016

Born July 26, 1955 in Copan, Honduras, Maria Antonia Gonzalez ( Toñita) lived in San Pedro and passed away peacefully on June 27, 2016 after battling Leukemia for a year and a half. She was in her home and surrounded by her loving family.

Anyone who knew Toñita knows how much of a kind hearted, brave and loving person she was, more importantly how much she enjoyed helping out others.

Toñita was an amazing wife to Pablo and a dedicated mother to her four children Cesia, Elmer, Mayra and Albert. Her grandchildren Jacob, Jaselyn, Leilani, Jordan, Brandon, Abigail and Amberlynn will miss her.

Toñita's passion for missionary work spanned over 30 years. During her missionary trips she visited Honduras at least four to five months out of the year. Each time she went back to Honduras she brought donations in food, clothes, money and something special for the churches and people of Honduras. She helped establish and build over 15 churches, church schools and ministries and helped countless others.

Toñita worked several jobs before dedicating herself to her missionary passions. She received training and a diploma in Honduras to be a secretary. She was a professional seamstress and eventually owned her own clothing store. She taught Sunday School and was an official Missionette. She became an owner and operator of three (3) successful Travel Agencies and worked alongside her husband and three of children. She worked in that profession until the closing of the agencies which then allowed her to fully pursue her missionary call.
