Maria "Lena" Blanco

Maria "Lena" Blanco came into this world on December 31st, 1949 and entered eternal life on July 30th, 2016. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Lena was born on December 31st, 1949 to Reyes and Julia Ybarra in Torrance, California. Lena lived her life caring for others. She was a dedicated housewife, stay at home mom and Nana, as well as a trusted sitter to her nieces, nephews, and children in her neighborhood (La Rana). She loved playing bingo, visiting with friends, watching movies, listening to doo-wop and oldies, cruising with her car club (Road Sinners), and most of all, dancing the night away with her true love, Big Rick, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven. She is survived by her two sons, Richard "Lil Rick" Blanco, Jr. and Stephen Blanco (Melissa); her four granddaughters, Kayla, Cheyanne, Jayden, and Mekenna; and two great-grandsons, Shane and Julian. Lena is also survived by her parents, Reyes and Julia, brothers Richard, Rocco and Kito, and sisters Martha (George), Veve (Buffalo) and Ninny, many nieces and nephews, as well as, family and friends. Rosary will be held on Friday August 5th, 2016 at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach, at 7:00pm. Mass will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church on Saturday August 6th, 2016 at 11:00am with burial to follow at Green Hills Cemetery, Rancho Palos Verdes.
