Margarete A. Yonamine

Margarete A. Yonamine, 87, was born on Nov. 23, 1928 to Gottlieb and Margarete Schwunk in Germany. She passed away on March 17, 2016 in Modesto, CA. She is survived by her daughter, Ingrid Koyanagi (Sus), daughter in-law, Kathy Yonamine, grandchildren Fawn Oda (Michael), Dominic Yonamine (Becky), Chad Koyanagi, Kittie Romero (Dennis), and Sonny Yonamine, great-grandchildren, Tyler Oda, Nicolas Yonamine, Kalena Yonamine, Matthew Yonamine and Nathaniel Romero.

Margarete loved to spend time watching her soap opera and game shows on television. She also enjoyed working on her word search books, spending time outside and talking with friends and family. She often laughed when she told the story of how her and Yoshimitsu met. She devoted her whole life to caring for Yosh.

She has gone to be with her husband, Yoshimitsu Yonamine, son, Peter Yonamine and grandson, Tyrone Oda and will be missed dearly by everyone who loved her or even knew her.

A service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11am in Green Hills Memorial Park. The family has requested casual dress and no flowers please for the service. There will be a reception to follow at the Gardena VFW hall from 12:30 - 3:00.
