Margaret Eulalia Villalobos 1929-2015


Margaret E. Villalobos passed with peace and grace on February 17, 2015 with her family at her side. She was the first of ten children born to Anastacio and Eloisa Trujillo. Survived by six children: Carol (Lambert) Maldonado, Carlos (Carmen), Richie (Lonita), Teresa (Frank) Hurtado, Rachel Gomez, Jose (Evelyn). Margaret had many grandchildren who loved her: Elisa and Monica Maldonado, Vanessa Smith - Villalobos, Shonowa, Michaela Urias, Marcella (Jaime) Fox, Marlisa (Matt) Mayberry, Frankie Hurtado, Margarete Villalobos, Rachel, Carlos and Alegria Gomez, Jocelyn Villalobos, Kevin Flores, Monique George, Nahlene (Mark) Watanabe, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Ralphie Contreras of Bellevue, WA and Estella (Pete) Ruibal of Newark, CA; two brothers: Leroy (Ruth) Trujillo of Lomita, CA and Carlos Trujillo of Santa Fe, NM. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Carlos, one sister, Tillie Gonzalez and four brothers, Ted, Phillip, Manuel, and Pete Trujillo.


Margaret was born in the small town of Mora, New Mexico. Her family came to the South Bay when she was 14 years old where she attended local schools and graduated from Banning High School. She started working at a young age, waitressing in local coffee shops and restaurants. In 1949 she married Carlos and they were together 59 years before his passing in 2009. She and Carlos retired in the early 1990's after managing their successful tax business on Avalon Blvd. in Wilmington.


Margaret loved visits from her family. She also loved to travel with her husband and attended USC games all over the country. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who would always serve "a little more" on your plate.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5 - 9 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1220 Sanford Ave., Wilmington, followed by graveside services at Green Hills. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Carlos.
