Margaret C. Latterman

June 25, 1952 — February 24, 2017

Margaret (Peggy) Latterman of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA passed into the Hands of Our Lord on 24 February 2017. Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and coworker, who cherished and respectd all whom she met and touched. Peggy was born and raised in the Detroit suburbs of Michigan with her three sisters and twin brother. Her family of entrepreneurs owned small businesses ranging from a jewelry store to a building supplies company; however, her fondest memories were from family time together at their lakeside cottage. Peggy worked for the Park-Davis pharmaceutical corporation as an executive administrative assistant, and then came west, working briefly for her father in Arizona and then for The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA. As an administrative assistant, she supported the US Air Force space launch vehicles programs, including the Space Shuttle. Peggy became a military spouse, marrying Donald Latterman of the United States Air Force. Together they moved outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, where both of their children, Stephanie and Paul, were born. Peggy, now a full-time mom, returned to Torrance, CA with her family, where was very active in community civic projects, school administration, and local PTAs. After moving to Rancho Palos Verdes and seeing the children grown into teenagers, Peggy returned to work part-time as a sales associate and design consultant for Williams-Sonoma, Inc., at Pottery Barn in Rolling Hills Estates. She was a very talented and creative visual designer and enjoyed doing in-home design consultations for her Pottery Barn clients. She served on the board of her local homeowner's association and was loved by her community. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Don Latterman, Lt Col, USAF (ret); her daughter, Stephanie Latterman, of Torrance, CA; her son, Paul, and his wife, Becky, of Alhambra, CA; her brother, Thomas Charno, of Grosse Point Woods, MI; her sisters, Beverly Stephens and Tracey Bergstrom, of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and all of her nieces, nephews, and grandnephews. Peggy was utterly beloved by her family; she was a smart, strong woman and role model, who supported those around her to be successful, loving, and giving members of the community and in life. She will be greatly missed, but she is in the Hands of God, now and forever.
