Marcia Fae Hoxworth, age 76 passed away from cancer Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California. Marcia was surrounded by her family. She was born on June 3, 1939 in Seaside, Oregon to Lorrain and Curtis Bergeson. Marcia moved to San Pedro in grade school and lived there through college. While going to college she worked at Marineland, where she met her husband Martin. In 1971 they moved to Garden Grove and had their two children, Marcus and Michael.
While living in Garden Grove Marcia worked at the OC Evening News running a NCR billing machine and then worked with her husband at McDonnell Douglas as a facilities coordinator in Long Beach for 11 years. Marcia was involved in many organizations in her community: The Garden Grove Emblem Club for 6 years, The Women's division of Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce for 8 years, The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival for 16 years, and The Lamp Lighter's for 5 years.
Marcia and Martin were married 47 years. She is survived by her husband Martin Hoxworth, two sons Marcus and Michael, Daughter-in-laws Karen and Becky, and five grandchildren Ashley, Mikel, Clayton, Brandi and Dylan. Marcia Fae was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at the Garden Grove Elks Lodge at 11am on January 29, 2016.
