Mabel A. Love

Mabel Alice Varner Love passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017 at the age of 102. Mabel was born in Turlock, CA and was the third of five daughters of Adeline Tilden Varner and James Edward Varner. She met her sweetheart, Merle Westley Love on a double date and were married on February 12, 1938. They moved to Torrance in 1966, where Mabel has lived ever since. Mabel enjoyed working at the Polka Dot at the Del Amo Mall and was there for 17 years. Mabel and Merle enjoyed square dancing with the Honeycombers , camping and fishing, and raising Springer Spaniels. They were blessed to celebrate 71 years of marriage. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her sisters Matjorie Adams Frybarger, Eva Graham, Virginia Rapp, and Barbara Hollingsworth Galt. Mabel is survived by her daughter, Janet Wise, and her cherished grandchildren Eric (Jennifer) Wise, Thomas (Laura) Wise, and Natalie Gardner, and her two special great-grandchildren, Lily Grace Wise and Carter Wise.
