Lydia "Lily" Marie Guerrero Alvarez

Lydia "Lily" Marie Guerrero Alvarez, 89, of San Pedro, went to eternal rest on April 11, 2015 one day before her 90th birthday. Lydia was born April 12, 1925 in San Pedro to the late Adam and Fernanda (née Arochi) Guerrero. She attended Barton Hill Elementary, Richard Dana Junior High and San Pedro High School. Before being married she worked at Kress's, Newberry's and at her brother Mundo's San Pedro store. Lydia married the late Francisco Alvarez on April 22, 1961. Lydia was a mother, sister, aunt, friend to all and most importantly a grandmother. She was a faithful servant of GOD and enjoyed many years of fellowship at Ocean View Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter Maria Dolores (Vance James) Warth, a son James Anthony (Jennifer Anne) Alvarez, one grandson Chandler Vanjames Warth and two granddaughters. Her sister Estella Arreola of Santa Rosa, CA; sister Martha Gascon of San Pedro, CA; brother Edmund "Mundo" (Elidia) Guerrero of South Carolina; sister-in-law Lupe Guerrero of San Pedro, CA; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Ocean View Baptist Church 1900 South Western Avenue, San Pedro, CA on Friday, April 17th at 11:00AM Pastor Rich Freeman will be officiating.
