Luperio Matignas, 74, of Paco, Manila, Philippines, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, in Los Angeles, CA. He was born on November 15, 1949. Luperio, known to his loved ones as Perry “Bhoy” will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bhoy was a loving husband to his wife, Cely, and a dedicated father to his children, Jed, Jing, and Jick. He also cherished his role as Tatay to his grandchildren: Babu, Elaine, Leah, Newiee, Penny, Kaiju, and Damien. A wonderful father-in-law to Diana, Casey, and Jhulz. Bhoy's family was his pride and joy; he always created lasting memories with them.
Bhoy had a successful career as an Aeronautical Engineer in his professional life. While at Philippine Airlines, he showed dedication and commitment by doing hard work with integrity and pride. Bhoy was greatly admired by his colleagues and positively impacted the office and his team.
Outside of work, Bhoy had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation. Whether it was carpentry or being a handyman, he always showed his talents every time he had an interest and always did it with enthusiasm. He also loves dancing and is a great storyteller who always makes everyone laugh; he loves traveling and going on vacation with his family, is a movie fanatic, and is a person who enjoys learning by educating himself from different challenges.
Bhoy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature. He is a spiritual man who always prays, attends mass celebrations, and involves himself in the community. He has an unwavering love for his family, is a great brother to his siblings, is a trustworthy friend, is a dependable colleague, and is a wonderful person overall. Bhoy's legacy will continue inspiring and uplifting those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
