Guadalupe (Lupe) Ramirez, of Carson, CA, passed away on May 9, 2020, at the age of 82. He was born in Morenci, Arizona to Emeterio Ramirez and Paula Bustamante, one of eight children. He spent his childhood years in Phoenix, Arizona and in Merced, California. When he was 17, he met the love of his life, Julia Carrillo. They were married in Phoenix and moved to California soon after their first child was born. Lupe & Julia were married for 64 years and raised 4 children together. He had a long 38-year career as a Carpenter, working his way up to the position of Superintendent with a large construction firm.
Lupe loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, and golfing. One of his greatest joys was teaching his grandsons, nephews, and neighborhood boys how to fish. His favorite hobby, however, was going to the casinos with his brother Raymond, sister-in-law Sally, and his compadres Leo and Helen. They had many good laughs on these outings. Lupe’s games of choice were Keno and Poker, and in Jan 2019 he finally hit that Royal Flush!
Lupe leaves behind his wife, Julia; daughters, Sylvia, Yvonne, Eva; Son, Fred; grandchildren, Carina, Anthony, Ceasar, Maureen, Vanessa; great-grandchildren, Alexes, Alisya, Natalia, Armando, Bella, Aubrie, Isabella, Felipe, Ariana, Santino; brothers, Rudy and Tony; sisters, Esther, Olivia, Olga; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current COVID-19 gathering restrictions, a private burial service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park, in Rancho Palos Verdes, on Thursday, May 21, 2020.
The family wishes to express gratitude for the many prayers and support during this time of loss.
