Luella Ann Terrill

January 20, 1935 — August 3, 2013

Luella A. Terrill passed away peacefully in her home of 40 years in Harbor City, where she lived with long-time friend Donna Bennett. Luella worked at PMA (Pacific Maritime Association) for 42 years. She attained the position of Manpower Allocator charged with allocating longshoremen for all ships being off-loaded in Long Beach Harbor. She owned and operated Plums Country Kitchen in Torrance, fulfilling a long-held dream of operating a restaurant. She and her husband, Marvin, were married for 53 years. It was an exceptionally fulfilling marriage for both. Luella was a world traveler with her late husband, Marvin. She was known about town for her exquisite taste in clothes and jewelry. She loved to bake cookies and fruit cakes for the holidays and have friends for dinners. She was a huge supporter of many charities. She was a powerful leader for the American Business Women's Association and was particularly involved in the scholarship endeavors to support the advancement of young women professionals. She will be missed by all who knew her. Thanks to all her caregivers and Medical team, of particular note the family extends grateful thanks to Donna Bennett for her many years of dedication and friendship to both Marvin and Luella. Luella is survived by nieces and nephews: Susan Terrill-Flint, Gay Hampton, Guy Terrill, Brent Terrill, Don Terrill, and Norman Terrill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA in the memory of Luella and Pepper Terrill or to an educational institution or educational support fund of your choosing. Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 9 at 11:00 AM at Green Hills Memory in RPV.
