Louise Van Cleve

July 22, 1932 — March 29, 2014

Louise Frederick Van Cleve, 81, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Torrance Memorial Hospital. She was a 48 year resident of the Palos Verdes area. Lou was born July 22, 1932 in Lorain, Ohio, the daughter of the late Attorney Joseph and Margaret Chaszar Frederick. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, The Ohio State University, member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Lou met her mate of more than 60 years, Charles, on the weekend of the infamous "Blizzard Bowl" against Michigan. She was a life member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association, member of Riviera United Methodist Church, and San Pedro-Palos Verdes Assistance League.

Lou devoted her life and love as homemaker to her husband, their three children, and later their three grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles, daughters Christi (William Roschen) Van Cleve and Vicki (John) Sands, and son, Charles, and grandchildren Nicole and John Sands and Jane Louise Roschen, and sister, Carol (Gary) Hopper. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret (Donald) Bowditch.

Private burial at Green Hills Memorial Park followed by memorial service at Riviera United Methodist Church Chapel, Redondo Beach, Monday, April 14, 2014 at 3 p.m., Pastor Mark Sturgess officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riviera United Methodist Church, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
