Lorena May Larsen

Lorena May Larsen of Aliso Viejo passed away January 4th, 2013 at the age of 97. She was born on August 14, 1915 in Kentucky. She was a wonderful mom, wife, daughter and sister. Lorena married Frank Larsen in 1936 after a 48 hour courtship and they were married for 62 years when he passed in November 1997. During her lifetime she was a Sunday school teacher, PTA President, and worked in an Airplane factory during the war, then raised her daughter. After her daughter was in junior high she worked in the retail industry as a Department Manager and Store Manager. She was always active in church and her daughters school. She was an avid reader especially her Bible. She enjoyed bowling and she and Frank were on many leagues and won many tournaments. In 1991 she and Frank moved out to Torrance to be closer to their only daughter JoAnn. After Frank passed she continued to live in their home until 2008 when she developed dementia and could no longer live alone. Her daughter moved to Aliso Viejo and she moved in with her. She is survived by only her loving daughter JoAnn Larsen Smith who will miss her more than anyone can know. There will not be a viewing. She will be buried at noon on Friday the 11th of January at Green Hills Memorial Park.
