Loren J. Crawford

Loren James Crawford, son of William and Grace Crawford, born July 20, 1915 in Santa Monica, California and husband to Patricia L. Henkie (September 13, 1921-January 30, 2003) passed away peacefully in Torrance on July 30 with his daughter, her son and daughter-in-law by his side. He is survived by his son, Christopher M. Crawford of Hawaii; daughter, Candace E.C. Feldt of Torrance, CA; brother, Kenyan Crawford (Betsy) of Long Beach CA; grandchildren, Corey J. Feldt (Lauren) of Valencia, CA, Latitia N. Klingensmith (Alex); and great-granddaughter, Avery P. Klingensmith of Carlsbad, CA. Loren was proud of his accomplishments as an aerospace engineer, working for many of the major aerospace companies within the local area including Apollo 11, the 1st lunar landing which occurred on his birthday July 20, 1969. He was an active Boy Scout and loved to hike making his last climb up Mt. Whitney at the young age of 89. He enjoyed his neighborhood home of 54 years and his associations with friends within the Riviera United Methodist Church congregation. Please join family and friends for the graveside service held at Green Hills Mortuary, Eternal Gardens Plot #13, Space #E on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Riviera United Methodist Church, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
