Lois Spangler, a 54-year resident of Torrance, CA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 23, 2018 in Torrance while surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born to Joseph and Martha Werner on January 10, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN, the Werner family settled in Hawthorne, CA. when Lois was 3 years old. There she would spend her childhood and graduate from St. Mary’s Academy. Lois married her beloved husband, James “Jim” Spangler on January 25, 1964. The two settled in Torrance where they raised three daughters. Lois followed in her mother’s footsteps becoming an expert cake decorator. She and Jim were avid square dancers and loved cooking together. Lois will be remembered for devoting her life to her loving husband, her three children and her 4 grandchildren. She loved teaching her grandchildren to bake and traveling cross-country by car and motor home with her family. Lois is survived by her daughters Lisa Prentice and husband Rick, Bridget Spangler and husband Michael, Stephanie Woolley and husband Tom, Grandchildren Katie Waters, Shane Woolley, Grace Woolley, and Lucy Woolley, sister Shirley Moore, brother Joseph Werner and wife Margery. Lois is preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents Joseph and Martha Werner and sister Marjorie Carroll. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services and internment on Monday February 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes.
