In loving memory of Lionel Anthony Pasamonte, a beacon of kindness and warmth whose presence illuminated the lives of all who knew him. With a heart as vast as the sky and a spirit that danced with joy, Lionel embraced each day with boundless love and unwavering compassion.
Lionel passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2024 surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born in San Pedro and grew up in Wilmington, California, Lionel lived a life of many titles: US Army M.P. - Stationed in Verona, Italy, Cement Mason, Real Estate Agent, Coroner’s Assistant, Union Pacific Railroad. Member of the Wilmington JC’s & San Pedros Elks Lodge. He was a lector at Holy Trinity Catholic Church for many years. His favorite titles were: of Husband, Dad and Papa.
His legacy is woven into the fabric of countless cherished memories, from his infectious laughter that filled rooms with joy to his gentle words that offered solace in times of need. Lionel's kindness knew no bounds, as he extended a helping hand to friends and strangers alike, leaving a trail of goodness in his wake.
A devoted husband, father, and friend, Lionel's love knew no limits. His unwavering devotion to his family was a testament to the depth of his character and faith. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years Angelina, Sons Lionel Anthony (Kelly Love) and Marc Anthony, Daughters Debrah Lynn Atoigue (Joseph Sr.), Mechelle Lynn Pasamonte. Grandchildren Raelene Romero (Gilbert), Adrianna Gonzalez, Joseph Atoigue Jr. (Sasha), Jessica Pasamonte, Maximillion Justice Pasamonte, Jocelynn Hernandez, Marc Pasamonte Jr, Maile Atoigue, Savannah Davila and great-grandchildren Joseph August Atoigue lll, Evie Monroe Romero, Jasmine Taimane Atoigue, brother-in-law Art Arellanes. Son in Law Michael Hernandez. Lionel also leaves behind many dear cousins, nieces and nephews and countless cherished friends he made along the way.
Though Lionel may have bid farewell to this earthly realm, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched, a guiding light in times of darkness and a reminder of the power of love to transcend all boundaries. Rest peacefully, dear Lionel, knowing that your legacy of love will endure for eternity.
A viewing will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park on February 20th 2024 at 5:30 PM. Followed by a Rosary at 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro on February 21st at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
