Linda Scognamillo

Linda Scognamillo, a lifelong resident of San Pedro and Palos Verdes, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67. Small in stature but enormous in presence, Linda had a zest for life that was contagious to everyone around her. Known for her beauty, smile and fun-loving sense of humor, she treasured spending time with family and friends. Linda shared her passion for life with the love of her life, Frank, her devoted husband of 47 years.

The daughter of Charles and Minnie Valle, Linda was the youngest of five children including Charlie (Helen), Rudy (Claudine), Yolanda (Wayne) and Shirley. A graduate of San Pedro High School in 1966, she enjoyed fashion, music, dance, and travel. As a young adult, Linda danced with the Downey Civic Light Opera and other local dance companies. Linda and Frank shared a love of travel and experienced many adventures around the world. Together they established Travel Isle in Westmont Plaza, which they operated for twelve years.

Linda is survived by her husband Frank, son Paul, daughter-in-law Amy, grandchildren Lucas and Lilly, and 17 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Linda was preceded in death by several close family members including her sister Shirley and in-laws Anthony and Phyllis Iacono.

Visitation is scheduled at Green Hills Mortuary on Monday, November 2nd, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass is scheduled Tuesday, November 3rd, at 10:30 A. M. at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 870 West Sixth Street, San Pedro, CA. Burial service will be conducted immediately following.
