Lillie R Vickers

Lillie was born in Wilmington CA to Virginia Hernandez Duran (Ortiz) & Louie Duran. She lived all her adult life in Lomita, CA with her love, Dick Vickers; married 64 years. Lillie's light shined bright. This lady knew how to have fun, how to make an entrance & how to make you laugh with her antics and storytelling. She would tap dance at the drop of a hat, with or without music, to any captive audience she could find. She was a gift, our blessing, who loved her family fiercely. Lillie graduated from Banning High School, Class of 1950. She worked at Park Western Children's Center in San Pedro for 20 years as a teacher's aide. She was a Shrine "Daughter of the Nile" & volunteered over 400 hours at Shriners Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. Lillie was First Lady to her husband Dick's position as Master of Lomita Lodge & President of the South Bay Shrine Club. They were members of Long Beach Yacht Club & San Pedro Elks. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband Dick Vickers, mother Virginia Ortiz, father Louie Duran, step-father Phillip Ortiz, brother Louie Duran and sister Toni Jean Cobos. Lillie is survived by her daughter Denise Ziello Schwarz & son Richard P. Vickers; the grandchildren she adored: Christopher Ziello (Jacki Lobatto), Kelly Ziello Copeland (Patrick), Johnny Ziello (Alex) and Nicholas Ziello and eight rambunctious great­ grandchildren she fussed over endlessly: Reese (8), Sonny (8), Cole (7). Henry (6), Luke (4), Lillie (2), Ella (2) and Baby Ziello (due June 1, 2018). A Celebration of Lillie's Life to be held Thursday, April 12th, 2018 at 11:30am Green Hills Memorial Park27501S.
