Lilian Elizabeth Kelly was born to William and Flora Kelly in 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana. They called her "Betty" as a baby and it remained with her throughout her life. She married at twenty-one and had three children, Harold, Kathleen and Elizabeth. While raising her children through the 1960's, she worked at Ramada Inn and RCA Records. In 1968, she followed her sister, Dolores, to Southern California. Her working career found her in women's fashions at May Company, Buffums and Robinsons May. She had a strong adventurous spirit and traveled overseas to Japan and Israel, and also traveled across America by train. She made many day trips by boat to Avalon on Catalina Island as well. She was always encouraging to family and friends when called on. Her Christian faith was her foundation and she attended Rolling Hills Covenant Church for many years and also helped in the Children's Ministry. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13, "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me." At times she would joke and prank for fun, always saying "you've got to have a sense of humor." In her later years, her son, Harold, took wonderful care of her until her passing at age 89 in Torrance, California. She will be loved and forever missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her brothers Robert and William, sister Barbara, her daughters Jennifer and Elizabeth. She is survived by her son and wife Roxi, and grandchildren Rachel and Eric, her daughter Kathleen and grandson Travis, her grandson Andrew and his family, her sister Dolores and her children and families, as well as Indiana family.
