Lilia Castorena Palacio was born in Tijuana, Mexico. She was the 8th of 10 children born to Isabel and Ramon Castorena and grew up in Tijuana, which at the time was a small border town that had a residential enclave apart from the tourist areas. Lilia was very social, loved music and enjoyed dancing. She participated in various church, school and civic clubs. She married George Palacio, Sr in 1956 and relocated to Los Angeles, CA. They had 4 children whom they raised in Carson, CA where they resided over 50 years. A dedicated wife and mother, Lilia was known for her kindness and hospitality to her neighbors, always providing a warm meal to whomever entered her home. Her devout Catholic faith inspired family and friends. She leaves behind her sisters, Angelina Arce, 102 years of age and Teresa Cibrian, her children Mario (Lupita) Palacio, Monica (Clark) Wolfe, Regina (Rick) Ramirez, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as countless extended family and friends. Though our hearts ache, we rejoice in her new life in the presence of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior and her reunion with her Husband, George Sr., her son, George Jr., and her grandson Raymond Ramirez.
