Lenora Lois Barron

Lenora Lois Barron, widely known as Lois Barron, passed away at the age of 94 on June 4, 2023. She was born in Callao, MO on September 7, 1928, to Homer Jefferson and Ada Lea Burk. She graduated from New Cambria High School around 1946 and eventually moved to Kansas City, MO where she lived with her sister, Aletha, and worked at the Plaza Bank of Commerce for a few years. She later became a Stewardess for Trans World Airlines (TWA) where she would meet her future husband Robert Daryl Barron, a TWA flight Engineer. They were married on October 22, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, and in June 1956, they moved into their current house in San Pedro, CA. She became a housewife and they had three children, Cheryl, Gary, and Gregg. Lois was an active member in the church and community participating in Girl Scouts, PTA, and many church events at Grandview Methodist church. On April 1, 1990, Robert retired from TWA after 39 years of distinguished service. During their retirement years, she enjoyed traveling, going on ship cruises, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lois was a beautiful lady inside and out, she was kind to everyone, she had a smile that lit up her eyes and she will be greatly missed. Lois is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Bill) Rice; sons, Gary (Pamela) Barron and Gregg (Shari) Barron; grandchildren, Ian, Shane, Lacey, Lauren, Jessica, Jonathan, Jason, Whitney, Melanie, and Jody; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes at 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, with interment following the service. Public viewing will be held at the Mortuary between 9:00 and 10:30 am before the service.
