Lena Bell "Toni" (Gyles) Zukle
February 5, 1931-December 3, 2014

Lena Bell was born at home during a blizzard in Redfield, Bourbon County, Kansas, the fifth of George Arthur and Lena Bell (Marquis) Gyles' eight children. She spent her childhood years in Kansas, and then at the age of eleven, her family moved to Stockton, California. When she was seventeen, Lena Bell met Dennis Matthews Zukle and began a long-distance courtship, culminating in their marriage on November 26, 1950 in Stockton. She and Dennis settled in Torrance, California, purchasing their first and only home in 1957 where they raised their family.

Lena Bell died quietly on December 3, 2014 at Little Company of Mary hospital in Torrance—ironically during a rain storm. She is survived by her four children: Denis (and Rosanne) Zukle of La Mirada; Daniel (and Shauna) Zukle of Fountain Valley; Karen Zukle of Torrance; and John (and Emily) Zukle of Beaverton, OR; her five grandchildren: Melissa; Amanda; Sean; Alina Belle and Alyssa Beth; as well as her siblings: Mary McCafferty, Georgia Ratcliff, Wallace Gyles and George Gyles; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Lena Bell had a deep and abiding love for the Lord, Jesus Christ. She has gone home to her eternal rest with Him. We, her family, are thankful for the time He allowed her to be with us and look forward to our reunion with her in the Lord's time. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." (Revelations 22:20)

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12th at 9:00 AM at Green Hills Memorial Park (27501 S. Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275), with viewing on Thurs, December 11th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will also be at Green Hills.
