Leland Hugh Ingraham of Summerlin, NV passed away on March 27, 2025 at the age of 77 on Sawtooth Ridge at the peak of Lone Mountain in the Las Vegas desert.
Leland “Lee” Hugh Ingraham was born on May 18, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana. After graduating from high school, Lee proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 4 years, earning military honors including the National Defense Service medal and multiple safety recognitions for his work on radar systems in the Naval Air Force Atlantic fleet overseas in foreign territories.
Following his military service, he pursued higher education, earning his Bachelor’s degree from Chico State University. He later went on to complete a Master’s degree in Safety Management at the University of Southern California in 1976.
It was at USC that Lee met the love of his life, Victoria Turlis, who was working in the university’s Graduate Department. They married in August 1976 at St. Sophia Cathedral in Los Angeles, CA and began their life together in Culver City, where Lee was actively involved in the local JayCees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) starting as the State Director and becoming President 2 years later.
Lee and Vicki spent six wonderful years in Culver City, during which they welcomed their children, Leland II and Alexandria. In 1982 they settled in Simi Valley where they built a rich and fulfilling family life. Lee started the family business, American Risk Management, an insurance brokerage that would be his rewarding career until the very end.
In 2021, Lee and Vicki embraced a new chapter and relocated to Summerlin, Nevada. Lee loved the beauty of Nevada and the lifestyle they shared in their new community.
Lee will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his quiet strength, and the deep pride he took in his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lyman & Mayna Ingraham of Sacramento, CA, along with Uncle Bill, Aunt Mary Lou & Grandmother Frances Vaughan of Evansville, IN. He is survived by his beloved wife Vicki, his son Leland II, his daughter Alexandria, and his cherished grandchildren: Leland III, Clementine, Jacqueline, and Evangeline. He is also survived by his sister Sally Halasz of Lanexa, VA and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, 722 Knob Hill Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 in Lee’s memory. May his memory be eternal.
