Born April 15, 1949 in Meadville Pennsylvania.
He lived in Meadville until he 13 when the family move to Garden Grove California in 1962. He graduated from Santiago High School in 1967. He then went on to Golden West college taking Police Science classes before changing to Orange Coast College and X-Ray technician classes, he completed his AA there and gained his X-Ray tech certification and licensing.
While he was in college he worked odd jobs such as a delivery driver for a dog groomer and delivered guard dogs to their posts for a security company, I think he also drove an ice cream truck too..
He also lived on a sailboat that belonged to John Wayne for a summer he took it out sailing when he could. He loved the beaches, he lived at a few in his time, form Dana Point, Laguna to Belmont shores.
He was typical 60’s era, loved the Beatles, Moody Blues, Creedance Clearwater Revival and most music of that era.
He used to surf as a teenager, he also had a passion for cars, he had many I remember a few 3 Camaros 2 were Z28’s, and he got into some hot water with the police with them too! J and a corvette and triumph convertible and BMW 2002 and many others he especially liked the muscle type car. He loved animals, dogs, cats, birds, fish and he had a pet Opossum for a while that he recused as a baby.
He married Holly in 1971 and was divorced in 1980. After that he lived with his dad in Garden Grove until 1986 where he then moved to Belmont shores.
He Met his loving wife Sophana in 1996 through mutual friends and after 1 month, if I remember this right, Sophana asked him to marry her, he replied to her that he is poor, she said that that was ok. They were married on June 3rd 1996, 23 years ago today, though they had not known each other very long they loved each other more and more every day. When he married her he became an instant dad to 2 young girls. He embraced being a dad, the younger daughter was still in Cambodia and he was up to the challenge of getting her to the US to be with her mom and they succeeded. He was always proud of his girls and all they did, he bragged about them when he could. When he became a grandpa well that was his favorite thing! He was overjoyed and loved helping them with homeschooling and then homework and of course computer work.
The last several years Lee and Sophana were able to enjoy many travels all over the world practically,
Asia, Europe, Mexico, and the US. Many photos seen today are from those travels.
He had a long and rewarding career as an X-ray tech about 50 years! He was well liked by his colleagues, peers and patients. He worked in many hospitals in southern California, from Orange County Medical Center (before it became UCI), Laguna Beach Hospital, South Coat Hospital, Saddleback Hospital, Hospitals in Long Beach, and a few in the LA area as well, as some smaller radiology groups over the years and lastly he was at Healthcare Partners. He also was co-owner with his parents of Accent on Furniture a furniture refinishing business in Laguna Beach for about 6 years or so. and he also tried to make a career in life insurance and some multi-level marketing businesses but X-ray was where he belonged and loved doing it till the end.
