Laura Ines Rossi

Laura Ines Rossi was born on October 13, 1929 to Marcelino and Amalia Ines in San Fernado, CA. But she grew up in Siniat, Ilocus Sur, Philippines. She went to God on February 16, 2014. Following World War II, Laura married Cleto Yabes Ibanez who had already lived in the Los Angeles and served in the U.S. Navy. They moved to Los Angeles, CA and had a son, Florante Peter Ibanez. They divorced and Laura moved to Wilmington, CA where she meet and married Jerry Rossi and together raised their children George, Laurene, Irma and Jerry, Jr. in her home in Wilmington. Laura worked as a nurse's aide for UCLA Harbor General Hospital for over 30 years and retired to a life of world traveling and senior citizen dance parties and queen contests. Laura served as a devoted usher for, Carson's, St. Philomena Catholic Church. She looked forward to her many travels and ship cruises, often bringing her children and grandchildren along. She participated in many senior citizen activities, like casino bus trips and luncheons. Laura is survived by her children, Florante Peter Ibanez (Roselyn), George Bactad Rossi (Araceli), Laurene Rossi-Hallman (Perry), Jerry Rossi (Maria), Jr. and Irma Lynn Rossi. She also leaves grandchildren, Gabriela Ibanez Nguyenpuoc, Mikaela Ibanez (Hoan Vinh), Steven Allard, Angie Rossi, Julie Rossi, Selena Rossi, Justin Rossi and Jordan Rossi. Laura also was the proud great grandmother to Cleto BaoQuy Nguyenphuoc, Liam BaoMinh Nguyenphuoc and Viviana Rossi. Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 3pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca.
