Kruno Jaksic

Kruno Jaksic passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary. During their fifty-plus years of marriage, Kruno and Mary traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Australia.

After emigrating to the U.S., Kruno worked as a machinist for Starkist Cannery and eventually became a chief engineer in the local fishing industry. After retiring from fishing, Kruno finished his career as an engineer for various tugboat companies in Los Angeles Harbor. Kruno was proud of being a hard worker and providing for his family.

Later in life, he enjoyed taking his daily walks, tending his vegetable garden, cooking his traditional Croatian meals, and going to the park to play Bocce with his friends.

Kruno is survived by his son Nicholas, daughter-in-law Lisa, and the light of his life, his grandson Stephen.

A Visitation/Celebration of Life will be on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 4:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes. He will be laid to rest during a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.
