Kimiko (nee Taguchi) Miyamura, age 92, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 1st, 2025 at Manor Care Homes in Oxnard, CA. She was born on April 20th, 1933 in Los Angeles, CA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Umeko (nee Matsumoto) Taguchi and Hikotaro Taguchi.
Kimiko (Kimi) was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kei Miyamura; two daughters Shari Kim and Stacy Kay Miyamura; one sister Chiyeko Yoshida and nephew Rodney Yoshida.
Kimi worked as a teller for Bank of America, but once they started a family, she took a position at the school Stacy and Shari attended, Hobart Elementary School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She started as a teacher’s aide and eventually moved to a position in the school office, where she retired in 2003.
Kimi was a kind, good natured and gentle woman. She enjoyed league bowling, dancing, socializing, playing keno and gardening. Not only did she appreciate good food but was known for several dishes that became family favorites at holiday gatherings. She was both dependable and conscientious in her professional and personal life. Kimi was a proud parent, dedicated and loyal to her family and friends.
Kimi is survived by her niece Lorraine Yoshida, nephew Douglas Yoshida, nephew Jody Sasaki (Conservator) and 19 nieces and nephews on the Miyamura side of the family, as well as many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
