Kenneth Paul Hutchins

Kenneth Paul Hutchins, 68, passed away after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in the early morning at his residence in Torrance, California. The family is deeply saddened by his loss.

Paul was born in Torrance where he lived his entire life. He played alto saxophone in the North High School marching band and lost only two of his senior-year varsity wrestling matches. He then graduated from CSULB as a marine biology major while working night shifts at a UPS shipping center, becoming the first in his family to finish a 4-year degree. His proudest accomplishment as a father was putting both of his kids through college. Paul was a warm and welcoming neighbor, an unofficial financial advisor, a life-long marine biology enthusiast, and a fixer and tinkerer of all mechanical things.

Paul is survived by his wife, Kerry, his children, Nicholas and Camryn, his sisters and his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Paul’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Gastric Cancer Foundation.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11;30 am at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
