Kayo Tsuruda

Kayo Tsuruda, a longtime resident of La Mirada, but most recently of Fullerton, passed away at home on October 24, 2022. She was 99.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by her daughter Nancy, two grandsons David (wife Valerie) and Tim (wife Meg), three great grandchildren, James, Henry, and Reinette, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Kayo was preceded in death by her husband Dave and her son Gary.

Kayo was born in Fielding, Utah. Over the years her family moved between Utah (where she met her husband) and California. Much of the family finally settled back into California shortly after WWII ended. Kayo’s interest in music and dance was reflected in her owning a dance studio and teaching tap and ballet during one period of her career. She will be dearly missed and remembered always.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel followed by interment. The family kindly requests no koden.
