Katica Lazin

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Katica Lazin, 87, of Torrance, California, who peacefully left this world on April 15, 2025. Katica, lovingly known to her family as “Baba”, was born in Vrsac, Serbia, where her journey of life began on June 3, 1937.
Katica was a woman of strength and resilience, having overcome the hardship of immigrating to America on September 3, 1977, seeking a better life for herself and her loved ones. She settled in Hawthorne, California, before making Roland Heights and finally Torrance her beloved home.
A dedicated mother to her son Dragan Lazin, Katica cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted sister to Andelka Terzic and a proud grandmother to Mary Lazin, Danny Lazin, and their spouses. Her heart overflowed with joy at the arrival of her great grandsons, Russell and Max, who brought light and laughter into her life.
Katica was preceded in death by her parents, Katica and Kosta Medic, her siblings Dusan Medic, Isa Medic, and Lula Medic, and her beloved husband, Zlatomir Lazin. Together, they now watch over their cherished family from above.
Throughout her life, Katica cultivated a love for gardening and caring for her cats. A dedicated employee, Katica worked at Teledyne from 1978 to 2002.
Her fondness for travel led her back to Serbia often, where she relished every moment spent with extended family. Katica enjoyed leisurely walks through the shopping mall, savoring meals at the food court, and exploring open houses with her husband and sister. These were the moments that brought her the greatest joy.
As we bid farewell to Katica Lazin, we hold onto the memories of her kindness, her warmth, and the love she shared with everyone she met. May her spirit rest peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband and may her memory be a source of comfort to those who knew and loved her.
