Kathleen M. Ortega

Kathleen M. Ortega, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on July 27, 1942, in Cordova, Alaska, Kathleen moved with her family to Seattle, Washington shortly after her birth. At the age of 12, she relocated to San Pedro, California, where she spent the next 70 years building a life rooted in love, family, and community.

Kathleen is survived by her devoted daughter, Marilyn (John) Slaton; cherished granddaughters, Marissa and Ilese Cramer; and treasured great-grandchildren, Dominic and Christian Cisneros, and Harlow and Evie De La Torre. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert (Arcie) Jackson and Tom (Leann) Jackson.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Ortega, and her son, Michael Ortega.

A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, followed by a committal ceremony. She will be remembered always for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
