Kathleen Mary Mclaughlin

McLaughlin, Capt. Kathleen M. USAF (Ret.) of San Pedro California, formerly of Winthrop Massachusetts, January 19, 2024. She was 79 years old. Devoted life partner of the late Maj. Stephen A. Wawak USAF (FMR). Cherished daughter of the late William M. and Marjorie (Nelson) McLaughlin. Dear sister of Sheila A. Harley of Friday Harbor WA, Rev. William H. McLaughlin of Newburyport MA, Maureen E. Cook and her partner Loren Melhart of Burien, WA, Christine M. Egan and her husband Walter of Winthrop MA; the late Carol J. Koegel and the late Sharon E. McLaughlin. She was the loving aunt of Anne E. Bjorklund, John W. Harley and his wife Lynnette, Jean M. Harley and her husband Greg Pentecost, Sean M. Egan and Jacob T. Egan, and great-aunt of Torin and Axel Bjorklund and Grant and Austin Harley, as well as great-great aunt to Finley Harley. Kathleen was the sister-in-law of John F. Harley of Long Beach, CA, and the late Maj. Thomas R. Koegel USAF (Ret.) and his surviving wife Addy Bergeron of Los Angeles, CA.

After service in the Air Force, Kathleen worked for many years as a technical editor in the Aerospace Industry, notably at Hughes Aircraft.

Requiem Mass to be held at The Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, NEWBURYPORT, MA, on Saturday, February 10, at 10:30 AM.

Funeral service to be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S Western Ave., RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA, on Friday, February 16, at 11:30 AM.
