Junell Ann Van Lone

June 15, 1930 — March 16, 2012

June 15, 1930 to March 16, 2012, Junell was born to Julie Nordstrom and John Doty in Flint, Michigan.

Upon graduating from University of Michigan with a teaching credential in 1952, Junell taught 1st grade at Mark Twain Elementary in Lakewood, California for two years.

In 1953 she married Bob Van Lone and they shared a wonderful life for 58 years.

While dating they developed life long friendships with a group in Belmont Shore. Moving to San Pedro in 1957, they joined First Presbyterian Church and the Outriggers and continued to develop dear friendships.

At The Kramer Club, Junell was a member of the "Ladies Tennis Doubles Bridge and Birthday Club." She was also an active member of the Assistance League, and later the Colleagues.

For the last 20 years they have attended Rolling Hills Covenant Church.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 11:30 at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, North Campus, in the Chapel at 2221 Palos Verdes Drive N, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to: Foundation for Women's Cancer, 230 W. Monroe, Suite 2528, Chicago, IL 60606-4703.
