Julieta Manansala, a resident of Harbor City, California, passed away in the late morning hours in her sleep on Monday, August 29, 2016 at home at the age of 86.
Julieta is survived by her two daughters here in the Unites States, Corazon Deguzman (& Randy) Nichols of White Plains, Maryland and Susana Manansala (& Michael) Pursey of Harbor City, California. She is also survived by four (4) other sons and daughters in the Philippines; Ernesto, Cynthia, Angelina and Eduardo. Julieta is pre-deceased by her first husband Luis and second husband Andres, as well as her other sons and daughter; Erlinda, Rosalinda and Diosdado.
Julieta was born on May 22, 1930 to her father Don Pelagio Balboa and mother Fortunata Jimenez Balboa in Gagalingin, Tondo, Manila, Philippines. She graduated from high school with her diploma in 1948 and was a life-long homemaker. Julieta was a very devoted and loving mother of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her hobbies consisted of cleaning, cooking, shopping and going bye-bye. Her very favorite bye-bye location was Las Vegas, Nevada, where she loved playing those penny slot machines. Julieta was also a very vibrant and spirtual woman, who loved going to church on Sunday mornings.
Julieta will be deeply missed by all of her friends, family and all who knew her.
A viewing is scheduled for Green Hills on Tuesday, September 6th from 3 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7th at 9 am at the Green Hills St. Peter's Church with Deacon Dennis Carlson officiating. A repass/wake will be announced.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations and condolences may be offered to the family.
