Julia A. Nakamine

February 14, 1937 — June 11, 2017

Standing just four feet nine inches tall, Julia Akiko Nakamine passed away on June 11, 2017 in Fountain Valley, California at the age of 80. Born in Lima, Peru on February 14, 1937, this petite yet fiery Peruvian was one of six children born to Seichin and Makaso Inamine of Okinawa, Japan. An avid shopper, Julia also enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to music, eating Peruvian cuisine and watching Clint Eastwood westerns. Julia came to the United States in 1970 after marrying her husband, Tomohide Nakamine. For several years she worked as both a homemaker as well as in retail at Western Frontier in Farmer's Market before moving to Macy's at South Coast Plaza. Julia was predeceased by her husband, brothers Enrique Inamine, Seitoku Inamine and sister Shizu Isa. She is survived by her daughter, Monica Nakamine and Brian (Misun) Nakamine; grandchildren Evon Nakamine and Jess Nakamine; siblings: Mie (Yeiki) Oshiro and Seiki (Shizu) Inamine; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held 9am - 11am on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in The Villetta Suite of Green Hills Mortuary followed by a graveside service at noon in Green Hills Memorial Park.
