Julia C. Ramirez

Julia C. Ramirez, beloved mother, nana, sister, and auntie, passed away on August 19, 2021 at the age of 84, surrounded by her children & grandchildren.
Julia was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met her future husband, Lupe Ramirez. They were married in 1955, and soon after moved to California where they raised their four children. They were married for 63 years, until Lupe’s passing in May 2020.
After raising her children, Julia went to work for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a cafeteria worker. She retired in 1993 after 21 years with LAUSD. In retirement, Julia was able to dote on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Julia loved to tend her roses, watch cartoons with her grandkids, and reminisce about her youth growing up on the ranch near Phoenix. But Julia’s favorite pastime was hanging out at the local casinos with her husband, Lupe, and her compadres, Raymond & Sally, Leo & Helen, and Rudy & Margie. They shared many good times and laughs during these escapades!
Julia is survived by her children, Sylvia, Freddie, Yvonne & Eva; grandchildren, Carina, Anthony, Ceasar, Maureen and Vanessa; and great-grandchildren, Alexes, Alisya, Natalia, Bella, Armando, Isabella, Aubrie, Ariana, Felipe, and Santino. She also leaves behind her sister Maria, her “little brother” Tommy, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A memorial service & rosary will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021, from 4:30pm – 8:30pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 10:00am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wilmington, CA. Burial will immediately follow the church services.
