Juanito Espiritu was born in Taguig City, Philippines on May 16, 1936. He is survived by his youngest brother- Rolando, his wife- Juanita, his daughter- Jocelyn, his son- Joseph, his daughter-in-law- Cynthia, and his grandchildren- Hazel, Mathew, and Mark. His hobbies include: singing, dancing, cooking, yard work, carpentry, playing basketball, playing ping pong, playing bingo and slot machines, betting on horse races at Hollywood Park and Santa Anita racetrack, bowling, telling jokes, buying lottery tickets and scratch cards, praying the rosary with his wife everyday, window shopping at the mall with his wife, and watching Lakers, action movies, and his favorite shows- “Price is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal,” and “Family Feud.” His favorite foods to eat were chicharron, hopia, fried pompano, grapes, strawberries, hot tea with lemon and honey, and peanut butter and jelly sandwich on toasted bread as a midnight snack. Juanito was very involved in the Catholic Church community. He was a member of the Taguig City Association of America Los Angeles Chapter, Gardena Rosary Group, and Choir member/soloist of St. Anthony & Maria Regina. His beautiful voice could be heard by an entire church; even without a microphone. He was always chosen to sing the Star Spangled Banner at parties and events. Juanito’s favorite outfit was a Lakers T-shirt, blue jeans, silk bomber jacket, tennis shoes, and an Elvis hairstyle. Juanito’s time with us ended on May 19, 2020 at 4:45pm. Juanito is loved and missed by many. His warm smile, charm, friendliness, laughter, kindness, selflessness, and funny character will be remembered and cherished forever.
