Juanita Lizama Soria

April 7, 1926 — July 27, 2016

Juanita Soria was born and raised in Guam. During Japanese occupied times, she worked the rice fields and learned to cook many Guamanian dishes.

She married Cesario Soria and had five children- William, Rosalin, Dorothy, Marie, and George. In 1977, she and her family moved to California and as the years went by, helped raise her grandchildren- Danielle, Ariana, Jeremy, Matthew, and Joshua. She was "Nana" to Michelle, Mark, Melissa, Serena, Sasha, and Gabriel.

Juanita was very passionate about cooking and is well known fer her Guamanian dish "shrimp patties" by many.

She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas- eating at the buffets, watching the shows, but most of all, playing the Wheel of Fortune slot machine and hearing the "Ding Ding Ding!" sounds of a winning spin.

Juanota was devoted to her family and will be missed for her acts of love, kindness, patience and generosity.

Services will be held at the Green Hills Memorial Park Historic Chapel on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 9:00 AM.
