Joyce Nola Higgins

Joyce Nola Higgins passed away on 11/19/16 at the age of 82. She was born on 8/10/34 in La Grange, Texas. Her parents were John and Imogene (Jean) Witt. At the time of her death, Joyce was a resident of San Pedro, CA, but has also lived in Texas, Kingman, AZ, and Apple Valley, CA.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family as well as traveling to Las Vegas and playing bingo with her lifelong best friend, Wanda Wills. Earlier in life, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was known for all the delicious meals and desserts she would often prepare for her family.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lawton (2008), and her sons, Daniel George (1964) and Lance Lawton Sr (2015). She is survived by her son, Grant Sr (Debby), and her daughter, Joyetta (Sean); grandchildren- Lance Jr, Daniel, Grant Jr, Amber, Desiree, Travis, Gabriel, Alena, Celina, and Raena. Also, great grandchildren- Caleb, Mateo, Mackynzie, Aubree, Emmalyn and Lance.
Services will be held at the Historic Church at Green Hills in Rancho Palos Verdes on December 8, 2016 at 12:00 pm.
